PROGRAM INFORMATION

Tier 1 Program | For Pastors and Church Leaders

The highest degree that can be applied for from Tier 1 is a Master of Divinity. Students can opt to apply for either a Certificate, Diploma, Bachelors or MDIV in Church Multiplication. Admission requirements and assignments will vary depending on the specific degree being applied for.

Students will direct revitalization within their congregation, including forming sequential disciple making small groups, church planting, apprenticing leaders, and teacher training. Students will consider all the options for organizing a local church and why various options may be more effective. Students will evaluate why churches struggle with change, conflict, outreach, new members' assimilation, commitment to spiritual growth, and developing lay leaders. This pastoral ministry major features Biblical Exegesis (Bible study) in English or the dominant language where the student serves.  Students will improve their Bible study skills, sermon preparation and delivery, and learning to teach their whole congregation Bible survey, evangelism, church history, and doctrine. Finally, students will be trained as trainers and serve as part of a team to train a cohort of pastors in these foundational principles.

Students who complete the requirements for this program will have met the following objectives:

  1. Develop skills in Bible study methods, preaching, and teaching
  2. Learn to revitalize the church to become an intentional disciple making church
  3. Gain knowledge and expertise in directing sequential disciple making small groups
  4. Experience personal transformation and spiritual formation as a disciple who seeks to make disciples
  5. Implement an intentional disciple making philosophy of ministry for the local church
  6. Develop the skills and knowledge required to be an effective pastoral leader
  7. Multiply ministry by training and developing lay leaders, church planters, and other pastors

(C-7) Developing Leaders and Launching Ministries
(C-8) Managing and Multiplying Disciple Making Churches
(C-9) How to Teach the Whole Bible to the Whole Congregation
(C-10) How to Teach Bible Doctrine to the Whole Congregation

Students can earn a Certificate or Diploma in Christian Ministry. Admission requirements and assignments will vary depending on the specific program being applied for.

This is designed for bi-vocational pastors and church planters or lay church leaders of congregations with no assigned pastor. In other words, students are the designated leaders of a local church that desire to increase their effectiveness in impacting their city, region, or people group with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Students will learn to lead sequential disciplemaking small groups. They will launch an outreach small group in their community and multiply new outreach groups by apprenticing new group leaders. From this homegroup network, they will grow their church or may choose to plant a new church. Students will improve their Bible study skills, leadership development, evangelism, Bible teaching, and church organization.

Students who complete the requirements for this program will have met the following objectives:

  2. Experience personal transformation and spiritual formation as a disciple who seeks to make disciples
